OpenStudy (agreene):

the zero-product property tells us for\(~~~A \times B = 0\) then \(A=0\) or \(B=0\) or both. So, in equations like: \(x(2x+5)=0\) we can just look at \(2x+5 =0\)

OpenStudy (mokeira):

Divide both sides by x to get \[2x+5=0\] \[2x=-5\] Now x will have two values \[x=0\] For the first x which we simplified and \[x=-\frac{ 5 }{ 2 }\]
