FAN AND MEDAL! please help! A firecracker shoots up from a hill 140 feet high, with an initial speed of 100 feet per second. Using the formula H(t) = -16t2 + vt + s, approximately how long will it take the firecracker to hit the ground?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use the formula and plug in numbers.. \[-16^{2}+(v)(100)+140\] the formula for velocity is \[Velocity=\frac{ Distance }{ Time }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[-16(100)^{2}+v(100)+140\]

I keep getting some insanely large number :/
