Main conflicts between Muslims and Hindus?
Well, religion and it's views were different. This conflict is staged mainly in India, as the population is very diverse and religion too. In India many of the population is Hindu while a small portion is Muslim, since bad history is recorded between the two religions, they have conflict.. over things like Power and who's right and who's wrong.
Hinduism is a non-proselytizing religion i.e. it does not ask anyone to convert to their faith. Muslim conversions have been the biggest source of problems in the past. And, support of a common muslim to terrorism sponsored by Pakistan in modern times just proves that - the problem is not so much of religion Vs religion, but religion Vs Nationalism. Muslims will place a fellow muslim (even a terrorist) above loyalty to nation. Here are some excerpts from objective sources ( not propaganda sites) of wiki : "The Mohammedan conquest of India is probably the bloodiest story in history. The Islamic historians and scholars have recorded with great glee and pride the slaughters of Hindus, forced conversions, abduction of Hindu women and children to slave markets and the destruction of temples carried out by the warriors of Islam during 800 AD to 1700 AD. Millions of Hindus were converted to Islam by sword during this period" - Will Durant, Historian. Prof. K.S. Lal, suggests a calculation in his book Growth of Muslim Population in Medieval India which estimates that between the years 1000 AD and 1500 AD the population of Hindus decreased by 80 million. "Even those Hindus who converted to Islam were not immune from persecution, which was illustrated by the Muslim Caste System in India as established by Ziauddin al-Barani in the Fatawa-i Jahandari. where they were regarded as "Ajlaf" caste and subjected to severe discrimination by the "Ashraf" castes." "The conflict between Hindus and Muslims in the Indian subcontinent has a complex history which can be said to have begun with the Jihad of the Umayyad Caliphate in Sindh in 711. The persecution of Hindus during the Islamic expansion in India during the medieval period was characterized by destruction of temples, often illustrated by historians by the repeated destruction of the Hindu Temple at Somnath and the anti-Hindu practices of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb." "Post the forced conversion, Muslim-Hindu conflicts have been fomented due to the mushrooming of Islamist organisations like SIMI (Students Islamic Movement of India) whose goal is to establish Islamic rule in India. Other Pakistan based groups such as the Lashkar-e-Toiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed have been fomenting bias in the local Muslim populace against Hindus. These groups are believed by many to be responsible for the 11 July 2006 Mumbai train bombings, in which nearly 200 people were killed. Such groups also attacked the Indian Parliament in 2001, declared parts of Indian Kashmir to be Pakistani in 1999 and have orchestrated numerous other attacks including constant attacks in Indian Kashmir and bombings in the Indian capital New Delhi. In the meantime, the toll of innocent Muslims and Hindus at the altar of communal strife continues to mount." "According to UNESCO reports, the reason for "Hindu - Muslim" conflict is "partial" secularism, in which only Hindus are expected to be secular while Muslims and other minorities remain free to practice exclusionary practices. Muslims also believe in colorism and discriminate on the basis of skin color." "Special treatment and privileges ( state sponsored trips to Mecca, special laws etc ) to Muslims, and the muslim support to terrorist causes is by far the biggest reason for conflict between Muslims and Hindus today."
