A bakery charges twenty cents for a cookie that is 2 inches in diameter. If the price is proportional to the area, how much do they charge for an extra large cookie that is 6 inches in diameter? Assume that each cookie is shaped of a circle. sixty cents one dollar and twenty cents one dollar and eighty cents five dollars and forty cents
Are you doing a test?
Your questions are coming sporadically, and it's my assumption

A practice test?
no prctice homwworck
This is a simple question. If a cookie that is 2 inches is $.20
6 inches is 3 times more than 2
Basically, you're going to get your .20 and multiply it by 3
This gets you A, or .60
ok?
?
Let's think a little more about this......
If the radius went from 1 for the small cookie to 3 for the large cookie and we are dealing with increase in Area, Since area is dependent on r^2 how much has the area increased.
I am thinking more like a $1.80
no i was thinking 1.50
Since the radius tripled, the area would be increased by 3 squared or nine.
Note you don't have to calculate the actual area, just deal with the radius increase and the fact A=pi*r^2.
Think some more.
As I said think some more before you close a question lol.
