The FIRST thing you should do is remember your Order of Operations. I'm confident you meant: (cosA-sinA+1)/(cosA+sinA-1)=secA+tanA The parentheses are NOT optional.

try first converting everything to sin and cos so RHS = (1 + sin A) / cos A

looking into this further tkhunny's suggestion cannot be right because i plugged in 30 degrees into the identity and it didn't fit @jayaprasanna - plz check the question again
