Is there any way that we could add a feature to allow people to edit comments?
Yeah was thinking about that too... Because sometimes you make a typo you wanna go fix it... Like how you ask a question though you can edit it...
@poopsiedoodle @camerondoherty I copy my post, delete it, paste into the post location and edit. Quite a bit of work for a simply typo, so I rarely do this.
also, an unrelated thing (because I can't have 2 posts up at once) I imagine the feedback button isn't supposed to do this:
@poopsiedoodle Nope. That is a break down in the internet browser's language interpreter. Likely an issue causing the slowing down of the website rendering or a add-on that blocks certain code from running.
also, moving some text around might be a good idea http://prntscr.com/4ev2mh
I would allow people to get rid of cheating evidence without losing medals... Also, if people can alter their comments, it could render the thread unreadable. Sooooo... I don't think it's going to happen.
^ That's exactly what I was thinking. That would make it so much easier for people to troll and get away with it. Just simply typing what you meant in another comment works fine, too. ^.^
Well, they couldn't really get rid of cheating evidence if it was logged like question edits and chat deletes, right?
@thomaster, not if you put a time limit on it. I think editing should be allowed, but only for up to 3 minutes after a question or comment is posted. I've proposed this before.
Or perhaos allow an edit history to be seen.
^ or it could just be logged like question edits are in the mod panel or w/e
Yes, but I am saying do it as somethign people could click to view. So even edits are public. I wondered why they did not do that for question edits. It makes it harder for people hide abuse if the original is still easily seen and reported.
@e.mccormick, you definitely have a good idea and I think it should be implemented but just restricted to a three minute time limit. One of the things I've noticed is that students will post questions and receive help on their questions, but then edit and remove the content later.
@Hero Unless there is a time limit already in place, you can "edit" our posts. Simply copy the old post, delete it, paste the post into the entry box for a new post, paste, and edit away. Depending on the thread this may be obvious or completely undetectable to a casual review of responses.
Yeah. This has been discussed many times. Seems like the cheating issue is the main roadblock.
but there are so many ways to make that not a problem
