Can someone explain to me how to do this problem? The "l" 's represent absolute values. F(x)= l 2x-3 l G(x)= -x+4 What is (f+g)(3)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just sum functions and put three in it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got it?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

\(\bf f(x)=|2{\color{brown}{ x}}-3|\qquad g(x)=-{\color{brown}{ x}}+4 \\ \quad \\ \quad \\ (f+g)({\color{brown}{ 3}})\implies f({\color{brown}{ 3}})+g({\color{brown}{ 3}})\implies |2({\color{brown}{ 3}})-3|\quad +\quad -({\color{brown}{ 3}})+4\)
