"…the Laws of the United States…and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby…" Which type of government does the passage describe? The central government has final authority, so the passage describes a confederation. The state governments have final authority, so the passage describes a federation. The central government has final authority, so the passage describes a federation. The state governments have final authority, so the passage describes a confederation.

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

well first off whats the difference between a fed and a confed?

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

do you know???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

A confederation is an association of sovereign states or communities, usually created by treaty but often later adopting a common constitution & federation is a union comprising a number of partially self-governing states or regions united by a central ("federal") government.

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

EXACTLY :D

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

so now do you think based on that description it is more of a fed or a confed???

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

that will give you 2 choices and we can go from there :D

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

I think confed..

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

:/

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

agreed

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

so do you think its central gov or state gov??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so a?

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

Yeah I think A also

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it correct prae ?

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

I believe it's A because it's talking about the law of the united states, not just "a" state and if it's saying all states should be bound thereby it's obviously not talking about a state government, it's talking about the central government..

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

At least that's what I think.. My best bet would be A, but you should still see what Prae thinks. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya because its the final and this depends wether i pass or fail and i need second opinions before i turn it in

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could you guys possibly give me a second opinion on another?

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

Sure.

Larry, a United States citizen, is planning to take a European vacation. Most European nations use the euro as their currency. Just before his vacation, the value of the euro drops in international currency trading markets. How would this change in value affect Larry's upcoming trip? The cost of things Larry purchases while in Europe would decrease because it would take fewer dollars to buy euros than it would have before. The cost of Larry's trip would go up because the cost of airfare will likely increase. The cost of things Larry purchases while in Europe will increase because it would take more dollars to buy euros than it would have before. Larry would likely be unaffected by changes to the value of the euro because he probably already purchased his plane ticket.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@happyfeet8040

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

Ok, one moment.

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

I would say A because if the value of the Euro drops, then it obviously won't take a lot of dollars to buy the Euros in those European nations.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

true thats what i thought as well

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

If the value drops, so does the price to buy the Euros. That's what I would go with. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

another question ?

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

Okay :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The chart below describes the how the governments of two countries share power: Country A Country B local and state government share power with the central government the central government has final authority local and state governments share power with the central government the state governments have final authority What types of government do Country A and Country B have? Country A: Confederation, Country B: Federation Country A: Federation, Country B: Confederation Country A: Parliamentary, Country B: Unitary Country A: Unitary, Country B: Parliamentary

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on ill screenshot the question becasue thats kinda confusing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is the question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@happyfeet8040

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you still there ?

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

Sorry! I was doing something. Back to the question :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is a screenshot of the question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

??????????????????????????????????????????????

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

Okay, I wanna say it's definately B.

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

Because federation is for government and confederation is for states.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are u positive ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like 100% :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

Give me just one min and I can tell you :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kk

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

A federation is a group of states with a central government but independence in internal affairs and telling by the definition country B would have something to do with federation and country A would deal with confederation.

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

So I change my mind, I believe it's A. :)

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

What do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i put b as my original answer but thank go i got a second thought on it and thanks for true ly trying because my life is literally in your hands right now

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

Yes, I honestly tried my hardest. It gets a little confusing sometimes but I'm glad I rechecked it! Are you in FLVS?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer is Country A: Confederation, Country B: Federation correct?

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

Same! Hope I helped, goodluck. :)

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait wait dont leave :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Until the 1900s, the United States tried to stay out of foreign wars and mostly avoided working with other countries except for trading. Which term best fits this description of United States foreign policy prior to the 20th century? Imperialism Capitalism Interventionism Isolationism

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

I would say D because Isolationism means remaining apart from the affairs or interests of other groups, especially the political affairs of other countries. So, it says in the 20th century they were trying to stay out of wars and avoided working with other countries except for trading. Here, they're basically isolating themselves. What do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thats true i thought it had something to do with ww2 but thanks :)

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

No problem. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kk hold on

OpenStudy (happyfeet8040):

Okay.
