Use the properties of exponents to explain why 18 to the power of 1 over 5 is called the fifth root of 18.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well n^1/2 is like the square root of n

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/2 means that we onlly want the sqt of it, so for 18 to 1/5 it is the same concept

OpenStudy (anonymous):

was it clear enough?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah it was. will saying "1/2 means that we only want the sqrt of it" be an okay answer for this question?
