Christopher is analyzing a circle, y2 + x2 = 121, and a linear function g(x). Will they intersect? y2 + x2 = 121 g(x) x g(x) −1 14 0 12 1 10 Yes, at positive x coordinates Yes, at negative x coordinates Yes, at negative and positive x coordinates No, they will not intersect

how would i go about solving this?
So they give you the circle.. What you can do is plot the line g(x) onto the circle and see where they cross. To draw the line of g(x), you just need to plot two points on the graph, and then draw a line through it. Like you can use the points (-1, 14) and (0, 12) to draw the line
Or a more algebraic way: Solve the equation of the circle for y, and find the equation of the line in the form y=mx+b Then equate both equations. (Note though for the circle, if you solve for y, you will get something like y=±... so you'd have to 1st equate the positive branch to the line, and then equate the negative branch to the line) But the graphical way should be easiest here because they give you the graph of the circle... you can always reproduce it on paper if it's too small and then draw the line g(x)
unfortunately I gotta go! I hope that helped though
