Three noncollinear points are contained in only one plane. Always, sometimes, or never true?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

If you define the plane first, there is some probability that the three will not be coplanar. If you first find the points, there is a unique plane that contains them all.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it would be sometimes?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

The answer is always.
