OpenStudy (aem9296):

Sketch a graph of a fourth degree equation with exactly two different real roots.

OpenStudy (imstuck):

I can sketch one, but I don't know if I can figure out the equation for it. Do you need an equation along with it?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

p(x) = (x-r1)^3 (x-r2)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

let r1 = 0, and r2 = 1

OpenStudy (aem9296):

no i do not need an equation i don't think I'm just unsure of what to actually write

OpenStudy (aem9296):

@IMStuck

zepdrix (zepdrix):

A polynomial will have at max, one less turning point than the degree of the polynomial. So .. like.... if wanted to draw a second degree polynomial, |dw:1408669487047:dw|It would have one turning point.
