What operation must be done to both sides of the equation to solve p - 5/6 = -3 7/9? Subtract 3 7/9 Add 3 7/9 Subtract 5/6 Add 5/6

@IMStuck

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

think about it.....you want p by itself. So you want to do what to make the -5/6 on the left side cancel out ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

what would happen to -5/6 of you added 5/6 to it ? Would they cancel each other out ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

so you would be left with : p = -3 7/9 + 5/6.....I am not gonna do the math, but p has been solved. So you would add 5/6 to both sides

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

sure thing :)

Okay thanks that's what I meant
