How do I identify the triangle PQR as isosceles, equilateral, right triangle or scalene? Here it is: P(-.5,-1) , Q(1.5,1), R( the square root of 3 minus 3 , the square root of 3 /2) Thanks a lot!!

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

I would use the distance formula to find the length of each side.

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

If all three are the same, it is equilateral.

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

2 sides the same is isosceles.

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Right triangle would follow the formula a^2 + b^2 = c^2

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Scalene is if none of them are the same, but it's not a right triangle.

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Make sense, @Spenceryellow ?
