convert units x=5.0m+(3.5m/s)t+(4.9m/s^2)t^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, this looks like a factoring equation, but what do you mean convert?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Cacciatore_J my homework just says to convert the units

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The only thing I can think of, that doesn't even really work because of the convoluted units, is factoring. Is there any chance you can contact your teacher to have them help you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can try to email him, thank you for trying

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

its so simple, see we convert all the units into m.

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

so, 5 m is already in meter

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

then, (3.5 m/s)t. We know that m/s is unit of velocity and velocity * time = distance(m). So we get 3.5 m

OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):

understood till here? @Kimes

OpenStudy (triciaal):

@Kimes by chance were you given a value for t, the time Is this all of the original question? @mayankdevnani I agree with the process but I think you are using a time of 1 sec and that I don't agree with. what if the time is 1 hour and therefore need to use 60 secs?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

the topic is "convert units" suggest that I need to use a conversion factor correction above 60 secs = 1 minute and 60 mins = 1 hour 3600 secs = 1 hour
