I started doing limits in class, and I have a question about my TI-84 calculator.
In my calc screen, when I have put, \(\Large\color{black}{ Y_1=\frac{x^2-2x}{x^2-x-2} }\) Where I have Plot 1, and I click GRAPH on the top corner, and it gives me a previous graph that I did a long ago (about a sinusoidal regression) how do I fix it to graph a new function ?
(I am required to use a calc, I wouldn't otherwise)
Are any of the Plot1, Plot2, Plot3 ... highlighted?
Yes, Plot 1 is delighted in black.

Alright, arrow up to Plot1 and press Enter/=.
have you tried clearing the memory of your GC ?
i arrowed at PLOT 1 and pressed enter... Then?
Check your graph. The points you used in the lists associated with Plot1 should be gone, and so should your regression line.
Nope, it showed the sinusoidal regression at first, loaded for a couple seconds (on the top right corner) and didn't change ( remained a sine regression) .
The only other way I can think of is to check to see if all the Ys are cleared.
they are cleared. Perhaps my calculator is set to a sinusoidal regression graph, but in this case how do I change the settings of the graph ?
they are and were.
Hmm, try clearing all your saved lists. [STAT], then 1:Edit... or 4:ClrList (insert list number, [2nd]+[1] for L1, and so on)
Are you sure it's not just a Window problem? Are you sure the graph function can handle the asymptotes?
I am not sure about anything right now... I never liked dealing with TI-84. The unfair thing is that I know all the math of it, but stuck on the calculator techniques. The teacher (kind of) showed how to graph it in class, and his calc, that is TI-83 or 84 has been graphing limits in PLOT 1, so I would say that a calculator shouldn't have any issues with that. I will see what I can do, If I CAN do anything about it... thanks for replying and helping, everyone....
Dang it my graph is empty. I clicked STAT→ EDIT→and inserted some points that are on the graph L1 the x values, and L2 the y values. dk
@SolomonZelman have you tried clearing memory ?
