Can someone explain to me please Brandon received a book for his birthday and read sixty-three pages in 3 hours. Later, he read eighty-four pages in 4 hours. Does his reading follow a direct variation?

OpenStudy (paki):

in both cases the number of pages per hour is 21/hour....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok , so what i have to do ???

OpenStudy (paki):

so i think it's direct....

OpenStudy (paki):

@hartnn what you say here...?

hartnn (hartnn):

3,63 4,84 see if those satisfy y=mx

hartnn (hartnn):

i mean see if you get the value of 'm' as same number in both cases

OpenStudy (paki):

you mean m=21...?

hartnn (hartnn):

yep, true for both...so his reading does follow direct variation :)

hartnn (hartnn):

just the mathamatical way to say what u said

OpenStudy (paki):

hmmm thanks for clarifying...

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but how u got 21 , is i'm trying to know

OpenStudy (paki):

63/3 = 21 84/4 = 21

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh , i see thank u

OpenStudy (paki):

pleasure...
