I want to teach myself C#. Any advice/tips or good books or sites or services to use? Thanks

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Here is a site that has lots of free books. I have found that some of the links are to registration sites, which I don't bother with, but many are just pre-press drafts, open source, other other 100% free things. It has both C# and .NET, and since Microsoft developed C# as part of .NET it is good to get references on both. http://www.onlineprogrammingbooks.com/csharp/ http://www.onlineprogrammingbooks.com/dot-net/ I would dig through and sample a bit until you find say 2 or 3 really good books for your skill level. No more than that. Othewise you can get bogged down. Use the Microsoft tutorials: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa288436%28v=vs.71%29.aspx Try and keep away from random person tutorials if possible. There are many people that write bad ones. But college based tutorials generally follow standards and logical concepts. So just take random tutorials and videos with a grain of salt because the ways some people do things are not always best.

Cheers man. This is a great help. I had no idea that Microsoft did their own tutorials... O.o Thanks again!
