7x-5/3 > 4x+5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7x -(5/3) > 4x + 5, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ 7x-5 }{ 3 }\ge 4x+\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would first multiply each side by 3 in order to remove the fraction...makes life a little easier

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now.. 7x- 5 >= 4x - 5 7x - 4x >= -5 +5 Remember the sign doesn't change unless you are multiply/dividing with negative numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, that was a +5 on the right 7x - 5>= 4x +5 3x >= 10 now divide by 3 on both sides..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x >= 10/3 make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah thanks so much
