when is an equation sometimes true?

OpenStudy (bibby):

When it contains a variable? This is an odd question

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

@bibby Agreed

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

@lokthedoor You may be referring to when an equation is true or false For example True: 1 + 1 = 2 False: 1 + 1 = 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for example, 5x+3-2x= 7x+3 x=0 would this equation be considered as sometimes true? or always true?

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

Oh ok, there is the information we need

OpenStudy (bibby):

as opposed to sometimes true: 6x = 12 is true when x = 2 but sometimes (most of the times) false x = 3

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

Just replace x with 0 and solve

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

\[5 \times 0 + 3 - 2 \times 0 = 7 \times 0 + 3 \] Solve c;

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

Tell me what you get

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright, it was just some doubts that I was having since I've been braindead since summer

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

haha I know what you mean @lokthedoor :P
