In terms of a social issue, it has been determined from DNA studies that there are no separate races that exist within modern humans. That basically, the slight differences among various ethnic groups are based on living in a similar region for many generations and having certain genes and traits in common. These traits were selected for as an adaptation to a specific habitat and environment. However, these traits do not mean there are separate subspecies of modern humans, that we are only one species. Maybe the concept of race and various prejudices people may harbor, may someday become a thing of the past, as we are all more alike than we think.
