Conver the following measurements to the units specified 68 km to millimeters if the milli is 10^-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hello

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you have any answer choices?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The question you put is kind of confusing, is that how it is wrote?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah it says b. 68 km to millimeters and there is a table on the top that says 10^-3 and then milli and then m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

68 kilometers would be 68000000 millimeters.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it asking you to divide it by 10^-3? I have no idea what its talking about lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont either ... its just a concept review and there is a table on the top that has powers, prefix and abbreviations and so im guessing the teacher wants us to convert 68 km to 10^-3 since thats the only number by milli

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would I divide it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait nvm, I got confused because I was reading it wrong. Is this a multiple choice question or do they need you to show your work?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

show work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok just a sec.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you soooo much!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What I posted at first was wrong, don't do that lol. I made a mistake.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Multiply a measurement in kilometers by 1 million to calculate its equivalent measurement in millimeters. For an example, 10 kilometers multiplied by 1,000,000 converts to 10,000,000 millimeters. Divide a measurement in kilometers by one millionth to also convert to millimeter measurement. As an example, the same 10 kilometers divided by 0.000001 converts to 10,000,000 mm. Convert kilometers to millimeters with a conversion program like Calculate Me. Enter the number of kilometers where directed, then click the "Convert to Millimeters" button. The conversion will appear in the lower pink highlighted area.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Some how the answer will be 68000000 millimeters. I'm in 11th grade, and this is confusing the crap out of me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm stupid though so really I don't know lol. I looked it up and every where is saying the answer is "68000000 millimeters"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is there any way to convert that to 10-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in math does the negative go the right when doing decimals because in algebra 2 they go to the left when graphing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and here it looks like its going to the right when it says -

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Idk, it can equal 1000, or 0.001. I got confused with it. The answer is "68000000 millimeters" though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank you
