Let Z be a standard normal random variable. Use the calculator to determine the value of c such that:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[P(Z \le C)=0.1492\] I really thought I had this one, as I came up with C= -1.04, but it is not accepting the answer. Am I doing something wrong here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://stattrek.com/online-calculator/normal.aspx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm i get the same thing ....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i fluttering hate statistics

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is driving me nuts. Its DOES also say this: Carry your intermediate computations to at least four decimal places. Round your answer to at least two decimal places. But I could have sworn that's what I was doing..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got the same thing, so i can't really add anything

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you anyhow! You've been such an amazing help since I joined this website.

OpenStudy (zarkon):

was the .1492 given or did you have to calculate that somehow ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the .1492 was given

OpenStudy (zarkon):

then i get -1.03987... or -1.04 rounded maybe there is a typo in the problem or solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When I enter -1.04 it just blanks out and won't submit. Maybe I should try -1.03987? Its just that it told me to round "at least two decimal spaces"

OpenStudy (zarkon):

i find it weird they say "Carry your intermediate computations to at least four decimal places."

OpenStudy (zarkon):

you wrote " Use the calculator ..." is there a specific calculator you are supposed to use since you wrote "the" and not not "a" calculator

OpenStudy (zarkon):

you can try

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's the calculator provided through ALEKS but it's nonsense.

OpenStudy (zarkon):

i'm not familiar with that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know, even when I've gotten a question wrong before it's accepted the answer and just marked it wrong. This time it's not even accepting it, which usually only happens if it's a format they don't accept for the question. Like if they don't accept a negative number as an answer, etc.

OpenStudy (zarkon):

ic

OpenStudy (zarkon):

maybe you should contact your instructor and address this issue with them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have half a mind to just skip this question but I would really like to get it right!! haha. I will contact them, thank you :)

OpenStudy (zarkon):

no problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i used the calculator i linked to above and got exactly the same answer
