A bag contains 5 blue marbles, 2 red marbles, 6 yellow marbles, and 2 green marbles. what is the probability of picking 3 marbles without replacement to all be blue or all red. P(all blue or all red)

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

This is a weird question. I'm not sure how you can pick all marbles to be all red if you are picking 3 marbles, and there are only 2 of them in total.

OpenStudy (zarkon):

then P(all red)=0

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

oh I suppose lol.

OpenStudy (zarkon):

all blue and all red are disjoint events. so ... P(all blue or all red)=P(all blue)+P(all red) you already have P(all red) now you just need P(all blue)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so how do you actually set this up? I'm confused

OpenStudy (zarkon):

i set it up...you just need to finish it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you
