14x^4y^7/6x^5y^4=?

OpenStudy (aum):

\( \Large \frac{14x^4y^7}{6x^5y^4} = \frac{14}{6} * \frac{x^4}{x^5} * \frac{y^7}{y^4} = ? \)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am not sure what to do with 14/6

OpenStudy (aum):

simplify. Both are even numbers and so multiples of 2. Divide top and bottom by 2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

14x9y 31/6

OpenStudy (triciaal):

@sdrftgyhjk what @aum has is correct ignore what @heavenfun13 posted when you divide numbers with the same base subtract the powers x^4/x^5 = x^(4-5)= x^-1 = 1/x y^7/y^4 = Y^(7-4) = y^3 @heavenfun13 what were you thinking? when giving answers please check what you have before you hit post. We don't want the person asking for help to be more confused. I still can't figure out what you did

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ 7y }{ 3x }^{3}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this the answer?

OpenStudy (aum):

Yes.
