In the year 2011,we experience 1/1/11, 1/11/11, 11/1/11, and 11/11/11. But even stranger, take the last two digits of the year you were born and add the age you'll be this year and they add up to 111. Why does this work?

OpenStudy (aum):

Age = this year - year born So, year born + age = this year

OpenStudy (aum):

"This year" they are talking about is the year 2011. Assume the person is born in 19XY The person's age in the year 2000 will be: 100 - XY The person's age in the year 2011 will be: 100 - XY + 11. Take the last two digits of the year the person is born (XY) and add it to the age of the person and you get: XY + 100 - XY + 11 = 111
