What is the limit as x approaches zero of 1/x +2 - 1/2 over x?

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

Hello and Welcome to OpenStudy! :) would you mind adding a few parenthesis in there to allow me to understand what you are asking better please? :)

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

like do you mean 1/x +2 or 1/(x+2) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The second one 1/(x+2)

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

mmm okay :) so do you know how to simplify (1/(x+2) - (1/2)) / x ? like first multiply top and bottom by (2(x+2)) to get rid of the fraction on top of fraction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

from there you can probably cancel out an x and you don't have to worry about hole since this is a limit problem then after canceling out the x, you should be able to plug in 0 and get a real number answer :)

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

if you get stuck anywhere, or are confused just tell me :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay I will thank you
