What ultimately happens to the light energy captured during photosynthesis?

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

it excites electrons

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is used to produce glucose molecules. It is turned into more chlorophyll for the plant. It is used to release the energy from H2O. It is put into ATP molecules for long-term storage

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

so it is used to produce carbohydrates DOHHHHHHHHHHHH

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks I guess ..

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

no problem READ up on macromolecules to learn about carbohydrates and glucose and different types of sugar in the mean time, read up on photosynthesis as this is a huge topic http://finedrafts.com/files/CUNY/biology/Beckers%20World%20of%20Cell/CH11%20Metabolism%20-%20Photosynthesis.pdf

i knew the answer but when i asked my teacher she said it was wrong. but i asked her again . and she said its was . so i was a little confused Thank you

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

read the link I provided, and you can download it into your computer also. it is a college material in an introductory to cell biology so I think you would be way ahead of your classmates after reading just several pages :)
