OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Wait, you are missing something in your problem that did not get copied. What form do you need? Is it a/b?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its a/b

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Ok. This is how I learned to convert a repeating decimal into a fraction.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

First, look at the repeating part. In your case it's 132132132132... right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

The repeating part has 3 digits. 132

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

You will need a number that is a 1 followed by as many zeros as the number of repeating digits. Since you have 3 repeating digits, you need 1 followed by three zeros. That number is 1000. I'll show you soon where the number 1000 comes in.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay....

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Now call the repeating decimal x: |dw:1410212425467:dw|
