OpenStudy (anonymous):

are bacteria and archaea prokaryotes or eukaryotes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Bacteria and archaea are prokaryotes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I apologize @nincompoop. @brianamccaffrey, bacteria and archaea do not have a membrane-bound nucleus and that is one of the characteristics of prokaryotic cells.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

how do you know that they do not?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you asking me @nincompoop

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

yes. I am asking you how do you know that prokaryotes are without membrane bound nucleus?

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

so you don't know and you are just basing it from others' work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

??? I learned this stuff in Bio 1 and Bio 2, while I was in high school. I couldn't quite remember if bacteria was prokaryotic or eukaryotic so I looked it up. I'm sorry for not remembering and using a website for information? -_-
