. A chemist studies two forms of refined gasoline. Which of the following branches of chemistry might the chemist use? (Points : 3) inorganic chemistry physical chemistry analytical chemistry organic chemistry
@BioEpic
I'm thinking organic since gasoline is an organic substance. Any substance with carbon in it is considered organic...
This is a really vague question - and not yours I guess. You might use any of the above in the following ways: 1) - Inorganic - to see how inorganic substances dissolve in the gasoline and to see if it's properties can be changed 2) - Physical - to see if reaction times can be altered 3) - Analytical - to define the properties and address the benefits of the two dependent on refining processes and content 4) - Organic - they are both organic chemicals and could be used and analysed in a variety of ways. If this is a trick question - and it seems it!!! - as with most chemicals it can be used in all of the above. I would suggest if it is not a trick question then the primary answer would be organic however analytical is a defendable answer.
I got the above from yahoo answers. :P
