For f(x) = x + 1 and g(x) = 2x^2 − x − 3, find (g − f)(x).

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

would this be a?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

With functions, you can also apply the expansion rule. Basically what the question is telling you to find is this: \[(g - f)(x)= g(x) - f(x)\] It can basically be rewritten as the above.
