help with exponents?

OpenStudy (girlgoyleh.):

\[\frac{ 7^{-3{}}*7^{9} }{ 7^{-8} }\]

OpenStudy (girlgoyleh.):

@jhonyy9 could you help me again please?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so then you remember in case of product of the same base with exponents so you need assuming the exponents and when you divide the same numbers wih exponents you need subtracting the exponents ok ? hope this will help you

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so the numerator will be how ???

OpenStudy (girlgoyleh.):

\[7^{14}\]

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

why ? there are 7^-3 *7^9 = 7^(-3+9) = ?

OpenStudy (girlgoyleh.):

can you proof check another answer too?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

first please solve this

OpenStudy (girlgoyleh.):

\[7^{14}\]

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

how you get this 14 ?

OpenStudy (girlgoyleh.):

i got the answer wrong, and then it corrected it to \[7^{14}\]

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

-3+9 not equal 14 !!!!

OpenStudy (girlgoyleh.):

6

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so then this mean that in numerator will be 7^6 yes ?

OpenStudy (girlgoyleh.):

yes

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so 7^6 ----- = 7^(6-(-8)) = 7^(6+8) = 7^14 7^-8 hope you understand it now why your answer not was accepted right yes ?

OpenStudy (girlgoyleh.):

yes

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

was my pleasure good luck bye
