OpenStudy (bruno102):

In lines four and nine, what literary term is being used?

OpenStudy (bruno102):

That floats on high o'er vales and hills, (1) When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils, Beside the lake, beneath the trees Fluttering and dancing in the breeze. (4) Continuous as the stars that shine (5) And twinkle on the Milky Way, They stretched in never-ending line Along the margin of a bay: Ten thousand saw I at a glance Tossing their heads in sprightly dance. (9)

OpenStudy (bruno102):

Metaphor Voice Personification Tone

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Personification or metaphor. I'm not too sure...

OpenStudy (bruno102):

Ok thanks, I'm not sure either

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Metaphor.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They are comparing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Line #4 is using personification because the writer is given what is described human-like qualities.

OpenStudy (bruno102):

How are they comparing @Bballplayer48 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This excerpt/poem is talking about someone's discovery, correct? And he is describing what he sees around him? I highly believe lines 4 and 9 are personification after reading it over a few times.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's not a metaphor because nothing i getting compared.

@bruno102

OpenStudy (bruno102):

Thank you, that was my first instinct as well, but was thrown off by people saying it was metaphor, I am going to put personification because that is what I feel is the best answer.

OpenStudy (bruno102):

By the way @AnnalieseBronz , Just submitted it, and that was the correct answer :) thanks
