I am very confused (probability question) http://gyazo.com/9b7f2ad0992754f490ba17ffae008a2f

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2X, O6, X1, XH, X6, X7 are my options I can select more than 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@zimmah can you help me?

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

If you first shoot a basketball, then the first element in your sequence should say X, or O And then a number should FOLLOW that X or O. A die has 6 faces.. so you can roll 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 So, your sample spaces consists of the events: X1, X2, ... X6 O1, O2, ... O6 (The order of the events is important here)

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

In an "uncodified" way of writing your events, you can have: Miss basket, then roll 1 Miss basket, then roll 2 ... Miss basket, then roll 6 Get basket, then roll 1 Get basket, then roll 2 ... Get basekt, then roll 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anything that starts with X or O followed by a number. Since it's not defined whether or not we use a 6-sided die, you could argue any number is valid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

any positive integer, at least

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

^Hmm perhaps lol. Usually dice in my probability problems were always assumed 6-sided unless specified otherwise ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

matter of interpretation, but they did not specify it was a standard die

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wouldnt that mean its everything but the first one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh and xh right because thats not a number
