13. who is the speaker in “ THE FIRST LESSON ‘ ( 1point ) A. a child b. a daughter c. a parent d . a swimming instructor
d
@PhenomenalPauling How do you know this is the answer? Do you have evidence of it and have read this book before? If so please tell if you're unsure or just randomly chose the answer you chose please tell as well so the asker can get this right or need to reread their book and look over.
Of course I have read it, I don't answer randomly because it will most likely turn out to be wrong. The First Lesson is just a short poem, here's the link: http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/first-lesson/ Based from the first line, choice b is out because the speaker is talking to someone he refers to as "daughter", and if you continue you'll see that the speaker is teaching the one to swim, ("Spread your arms wide, lie out on the stream and look high at the gulls", "lie gently and wide to the light-year stars, lie back, and the sea will hold you). Now let's consider the other choices. Choice a is out because obviously someone more experienced is guiding the "daughter". That leaves us to choices c and d. Yes, in the first line the speaker refers to the one's he's teaching as "daughter", but that's not enough to prove that they are biologically related. He can be a relative or an acquaintance who calls the child like that. On the other hand, a lot of the lines imply that it's a swimming instructor, all of those are fit to be said by one. Hence, choice d is the answer. I can't give explanations all the time because I have my own questions to answer, but I do my best to in searching for the answer to this types of questions. Sorry for my lack, then.
Ah I see sorry my bad then. Well please at least give a link to the asker or a short reason why it's that answer so it will clarify why you chose that answer instead of just giving out the answer (It's also against the COC to give out answers without telling how to solve or give evidence of the answer and I don't want you in trouble) or give them a private message later on that explains why you chose that answer if you don't have the time to explain at the moment.
