Write a function rule for the table. Picture included.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anyone able to help?

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

so what did you think of so far?

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

@purpleluffa

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was at first thinking that it would be answer D, but then I began thinking that maybe it was answer B, but I'm seriously not sure. I'm terrible at math, it's my weakest subject.

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

well think about it! you have hour worked and payment for those hours so we can say that our equation is a salary (pay) in terms of hours worked so it will be P= (something)h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thinks is d Pay = 6.25 * hour

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if 2 hours are 12.50 an hour would be half that right?

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

now we go back to our table! what can we see from the table mainly looking at Pay column

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

@ST4LK3R pls no answer okay! read Open Study code of conduct!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright my mistake.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm starting to think that it is B. I've been concrete in thinking that it is a formula of p =, and the pay adds 12.5 each time. So, p = 12.5 multiplied by h, the number of hours..So..p=12.5h?

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

i worked 2 hours i got 12,50 then i worked 4 hours i got 25 can you see what's happening here

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

hehe no guessing here! we are not playing a guess game hehe

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

see the pattern and tell me the answer you think is right, explaining why you chose so

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think that it is B, because the the pay equals the salary (12.5), multiplied by the amount of hours worked.

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

okay let's put that to test if i worked 4 hours according to your equation P=12.5h h=4hour so p=12.5x4=50 but the table is telling us for 4 hour i get $25 not $50

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhh. okay, just a moment then..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now I feel like it is Answer B. I checked it, and multiplied 6.25 by 4, and it gives me 25. So, p = 6.25h seems like the correct answer.

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

that's answer C i believe! and it is the right one for each hour i get $6.25 so if i worked 3 hour i will get $18.75 in proportions \(\large\frac{1}{5}=\frac{$6.25}{x}\) this way you get the salary for any number of hour( like a fraction of an hour)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you, very much. I think I understand it more now :)

OpenStudy (xapproachesinfinity):

You are welcome! in my proportion i set to look for how much i will get for 5 hour However you ignore the proportion once you have your function p=6.25h you just need to plug in any number of hours to get you output of payment
