Find the equation of the line through (2,3) so that the segment of the line intecepted between the axes is bisected at this point

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need to visualise the situation , i am not able to decifer the wording

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@e.mccormick

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

I have no clue what "the segment of the line intecepted between the axes is bisected at this point" means, so I can't help with it. Saw this too: http://www.sosmath.com/CBB/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=58845 Which seems to show a curve and not a line, so that does not make sense to me either.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohk , thank you though , ^_^

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Aaah, that makes sense! That would be bisected at that point.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hello , @Loser66

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Yep! And now you come to rescue me when I did not know what it meant. That picture really helps.

OpenStudy (loser66):

You finish your stuff, hihihi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can probably solve it now

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Yah, now that you have the concept, well, it is not hugely hard. You are looking at where the length of (2,3) to each of the intercepts is equal.

yup
