The additive property of equality just means that you can add the same number to both sides and the equation will still be equal. Note this also holds for adding negative numbers (or in other words subtracting). Start by applying that property to the 7 on the left. Let's get rid of it by adding -7 to both sides! Then we get 5(x+3) = 4x + 13 Can you finish the problem?
