MEDAL + FAN : http://prntscr.com/4namlv
What defines a rational number?
a rational number is something that can be made into a fraction. it isnt endless unlike irrational numbers.
It's better to not start your question off with "fan + medal." A rational number is any decimal, terminating decimal, fraction, or whole number. An irrational number is something that repeats, say, forever. For example, the square root of 2 is irrational because there is no rational solution, only approximations. Therefore, ask yourself, "which one of these numbers can I take the root of evenly?" It's not 15. I promise you that. 15 has no square root. What do you think it is?
Which one of these roots has a perfect square? That will be your rational number.
I believe that it's 16? Because it has no countless numbers. It's a whole number. @Compassionate
Hmm. You're on the right track. Could it be because 16 is a perfect square?
Also, if i may ask, why not start off my question like that? usually it attracts more people haha.
16 is a perfect square i believe.
What is a square root? It's when two numbers, which are the same, can be multiplied to make a product. For example, the squareroot of 25 is 5 x 5 And the suareroot of 81 is 9 and 9
Yes, you're correct. 16 is a perfect square because it's multiples are 4 x 4 You you tried 15 or 21, these would be wrong, because their multiples are 5 x 3 and 7 x 3. These aren't square roots, and in order to express these you would have to use Imaginary Numbers (which are irrational)
Ah I see!! Thank you!
Mhm. Best of luck.
