What idea is the poet trying to convey in these lines? Man's yesterday may ne'er be like his morrow; Nought may endure but Mutability. Every day brings new hopes and dreams into our lives. Every person is meant to die at some point. It is best to forget the past because we can't change it. Nothing lasts forever except change.

Everyday is a new day

Mutability is one of my favorite poems :) like a lot of poetry, the messages can be personal and subjective. However in my personal studies I've come to the conclusion that Mutability is about how change is always present, nothing truly lasts and the only thing consistent in life, is the fact that change will always be there. Every day is different from the last, and no day is the same, so although what you posted is not the original Mutability poem, the message is that we need to accept the fact that change is always going to be there, and there's nothing we can do to change that. (Pun intended. )
