The question itself doesnt even make sense, sugar and carbohydrate mean the exact same thing.
@aaronq a carbohydrate breaks down into the sugar glucose as it goes through the digestive system. that's what the question is talking about.

nah, that's not true. A carbohydrate is a hydrated carbon molecule with the formula \([C(H_2O)]_n\). Glucose is carbohydrate, specifically a monosaccharide. Whoever wrote the question doesn't even know what they're talking about. it's possible that by carbohydrate they meant polysaccharide (like starch), which case it does break down into individual monosaccharide components.
