Help with inverse

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

is this true?

geerky42 (geerky42):

Switch x and y to each other, now isolate y. \[x = 5y-9\]

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

@geerky42 so divide by 5 and add 9?

geerky42 (geerky42):

you may want to add 9 first

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

ok so 9+x/5 @geerky42

geerky42 (geerky42):

Yeah, so is that same as g(x)?

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

no

geerky42 (geerky42):

Right, therefore false.

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

yes the 5 and 9 are switched

geerky42 (geerky42):

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

question is there an easy way to solve these lol

geerky42 (geerky42):

I don't know any easier solution, though if you are given graph of f(x) and g(x), it can be solved in blink of an eye.

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

hokay

geerky42 (geerky42):

yep
