How was citizenship defined during 1776 and 1870? How was enfranchisement (the right to vote) defined?
History
The 13 colonies came to America to escape the British; They were bound to rebel against them. The size of the united states was originally the east coast from canada to mexico, but now expanded to the west coast. They were originally some hundred thousands and are currently three hundred million. America's brilliant genius Thomas Edison re-invented elecitricity, also cars and planes were invented, which revolutionized the transportation and economy. The war happened because of Slavery, Sectionalism, Territorial Crisis, Nationalism and honor. The north abolished slavery and eventually gave rights to everyone. Territorial integrity was preserved and the Reconstruction happened. WW II made the united states the worlds most powerful force. In the history of the United States, the term Reconstruction Era has two senses: the first covers the complete history of the entire U.S. from 1865 to 1877 following the Civil War; the second sense focuses on the transformation of the Southern United States from 1863 to 1877, as directed by Washington, with the reconstruction of state and society.
