What is the value of n? http://static.k12.com/bank_packages/files/media/mathml_cd2806dc0cfb53753c2a8bd9cbd6525987b35c26_1.gif

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oml im in k12 too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cool

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.lol

OpenStudy (amistre64):

can you show your attempt at a solution?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Um I suck at math but ill try

OpenStudy (amistre64):

trying is the important part, i can correct as needed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so the slash thing means to divide right

OpenStudy (amistre64):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so 3n+6 divided by 3 =15 does n=3

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if we triple each side ... we get 3n + 6 = 3(15) n=3 is not going to work out for us 3n + 6 = 45 is partway there

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what would we do next? any thoughts?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No idk

OpenStudy (amistre64):

well we are adding 6 to something to get 45, lets subtract 6 3n + 6 - 6 = 45 - 6 now we know what 3n is

OpenStudy (amistre64):

3n = 39, what should we do next?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait does n=15? :/

OpenStudy (amistre64):

im leaning more towards n=13

OpenStudy (amistre64):

3n/3 = 39/3 n = 13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok so that's the answer?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

with anyluck, yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks alot

OpenStudy (amistre64):

youre welcome
