I NEED MATH HELP!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so when is says x=7, it just means to plug in 7 to the equation, where you see x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in this case f(x)=-9x-2, so just plug in 7 into the equation, f(7)=-9(7)-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when ever it says x= or f(x)=, plug that number into the x's of the equation, does that help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YUUP! so now i just solve it right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, what did you get for the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-65? I get the feelling that was to simple :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats incorrect

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, thought so.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh my bad its right XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought is was -9(7)-7, not -9(7)-3, no -65 is 100% correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you get how to do it though?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha ok. So what what happen to the f(7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(7) is just saying that you are plugging is 7 into all the x's in the equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you answer would be f(7)=-65, think of the f(x) as a y, they are the exact same thing, but as you get further into math you start to use f(x) instead of y, make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup! Thank you so much!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem, if you need anymore help just ask
