what is the volume of a bead

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

That's hard to say. A bead comes in different size, shape... volume. Therefore, there's no exact volume of a bead.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about if its 1mm

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

That's still hard to say. =/

Think of a solid sphere with a cylindrical hole drilled thru it. example: Let R = radius of the sphere which = height/2 = 6 Let r = radius of the cylinder which is unknown--because you don't know the size of the hole The volume of the solid sphere is V(sph) = (4*pi* R^3)/3 and since the teacher gave the height as 12 the R is one-half of that or 6. Now you have to subtract the volume of the cylinder and that is V(cyl) = pi*r^2*h. Now h = 2R so V(bead) = V(sph)- V(cyl) = 4*pi*6^3/3-pi*r^2*12. The value of r is still unknown so it remains a variable. This simplifies to V(bead) = 12pi*(24-r^2)

ok thank u guys so much that helped a lot

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

How did you even receive these measurements o_O @ketchum052395

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i have a biology homework and it says what measures 1mm so i put a bead but i really don't still know how to do a volume

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's an example ..... ..

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Ask that professional, I'm going to bed. :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thnx tho
