for f(x)=3x=1 and g(x)=x^2-6, find (g/f)(x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is a compound function my friend, which means you find f(g(x)). Basically that that means is for every x in f(x), you replace it with the function g(x), so it looks like this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3(x^2-6) + 1 Now, since we're finding f(g(4)), go ahead and substitute 4 for x 3(4^2 -6) + 1 3(16-6)+1 3(10)+1 30+1 31 is your final answer.
