Find the "point-slope" form equation of the line with slope m = -5 and through the point (2, 7) the point slope form of a line as: y = m ( x - xp) + yp

OpenStudy (kkutie7):

ok so i write the point slope form a little bit differently but it is the same thing \[y=m(x-x_{1})+y_{1}\] so you have m which is the slope and you have a point \[(x_{1},y_{1})\]

OpenStudy (kkutie7):

plug them in \[y=-5(x-2)+7\] and then solve \[y=-5x+10+7\] \[y=-5x+17\]
