Free Medal If you answer Manuel builds and sells wooden crates. He made a table to show how much his crates cost. Which equation represents the situation? Manuel’s Crates Crates 2 4 6 8 Cost 25 45 65 85 A. y – 2 = −10(x – 25) B. y – 4 = 10(x – 45) C. y – 65 = −10(x – 6) D. y – 85 = 10(x – 8)
@jdoe0001 you know how to solve this?
well... I'd think is just a matter of finding the slope have you covered slopes yet?
yes but I didn't really...understand it
ok one sec
If you could just tell me the answer then that will be enough, we're going over it in class 2morrow I just need to have it done
\(\bf \begin{array}{llll} crates&cost \\\hline\\ 2&25\\ {\color{red}{ 4}}&{\color{blue}{ 45}}\\ 6&65\\ {\color{red}{ 8}}&{\color{blue}{ 85}} \end{array} \\ \quad \\ \begin{array}{lllll} &x_1&y_1&x_2&y_2\\ &({\color{red}{ 4}}\quad ,&{\color{blue}{ 45}})\quad &({\color{red}{ 8}}\quad ,&{\color{blue}{ 85}}) \end{array} \\\quad \\ slope = {\color{green}{ m}}= \cfrac{rise}{run} \implies \cfrac{{\color{blue}{ y_2}}-{\color{blue}{ y_1}}}{{\color{red}{ x_2}}-{\color{red}{ x_1}}} \\ \quad \\ y-{\color{blue}{ y_1}}={\color{green}{ m}}(x-{\color{red}{ x_1}})\qquad \textit{plug in the values and solve for "y"}\\ \qquad \uparrow\\ \textit{point-slope form}\)
hmmm the choices area in point-slope intercept form... so you don't really need to solve for "y" anyway
So is it a b c d
I really need to pass this
the idea behind tests is not to have them finished is to understand the material otherwise the meaning behind the test is lost
Well...
I guess I'll be moving on :c
@thunndernova308 what is the answer
or @jdoe0001
I think D because if you take the point 2,25, and put it in the spots it comes out to be -60=-60
yep...it was d, I took this :D
thanks for the random medal person XD @UniqueFreak XD
